The Eye & Ear Foundation Board has a new addition. Margaretha Casselbrant, MD, PhD, and 2021 Albert C. Muse Award recipient for Excellence in Innovation and Service in Otolaryngology, was elected to the Board in September. This month’s meeting will be her first.
Dr. Casselbrant has been on the faculty of the Department of Pediatric Otolaryngology at Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh and the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine since 1982. She is now Professor Emerita of Otolaryngology at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Her main research interest is on otitis media, otherwise known as a middle ear infection.
“It was important to me to join a group with a goal to improve diseases of the eyes and ears by supporting medical education and research as well as technological development,” Dr. Casselbrant said.
