A longtime donor to the Eye & Ear Foundation passed away in February. Nancy McDonald got to know the Eye & Ear Foundation when her late husband Bill was undergoing treatment for glaucoma.
Nancy was a regular at every Eye & Ear Foundation event. She was always the first to arrive and the last to leave. She was very interested in the research and got to know several of the faculty, who all thought the world of her.
As mentioned in her obituary, Nancy was a great storyteller, activist, and philanthropist with an “exceptional sense of humor.”
“Nancy will be missed by everyone who knew her, said Eye & Ear Foundation CEO Lawton Snyder. “Nancy and I met for lunch at Peter’s Pub in Oakland. She always wanted to go on Thursday for the pot roast, when she would entertain me and anyone who joined us with her stories. She was really a bright light; this is what we will all miss the most about the lovely Nancy McDonald.”
